The Story:
We work with 3 different groups of makers (totaling 20 people!) to make our baskets. Locally sourced dried palm tree leaves are handwoven into a beautiful 2nd Story with each product made; these pieces show off the beauty of Haiti. It takes steady patience and an artist’s feel to work with the palm leaves. Their work speaks for itself!
I purchased this a while back as a birthday present and it is beautiful. The pictures don't do it credit. It is sturdy, tightly woven and the color was great. The blue? strip is more predominant than it appears in these pictures. The lid fit very well and I was just really impressed. So you get a great basket and also help these guys to self-support. It makes purchasing anything here well worth it.

Exceptional quality!
I ordered 2 of these to hold odds and ends in my bathroom. They are VERY HIGH QUALITY. The lids fit perfectly and the weave it tight. The subtle band of color is a neutral that blends in with any decor. You might find something like this in a high-end gift shop for double the price.
